I have one of your hats that I bought years ago on display in our house. I love the hat, but would like to remove, or make less obvious, a couple of water spots that are on the underside of the rim. Please advise me of what steps to take to accomplish this.

I think this video will help you clean it up.
Thanks

Clean Hat

What is the best way to clean a hat. I purchased a leather & mesh hat and the oils from my head are showing thru.
Please advise.

Thanks

Jimmy,
Good news is that we have a great shampoo for suede, bad news is the stain from your skin oils cannot be removed. You can take out the oil and smell, but the stain will remain. I would consider it character.

Have a happy holiday season.

Good evening,

Several weeks ago, I had a scalp injury that was treated with a prescription ointment.I wore my latte Zephyr during the recovery, resulting in stain on top of the hat crown. Can you offer any suggesions or advice on how best to remove the stain? The oitment was white in color and the stain is about 2 inches in diameter.

Thanks…Tim

Tim,
I am so sorry about your injury. To add insult to that injury, I am afraid that stains from grease, oils, and even sweat are almost impossible to remove. Smells and the oils can be removed by scrubbing with our suede cleaner or a mix of 1 part baby shampoo and 50 parts warm water, and then rinsing out the soap.
You might consider the stain to be a memory that adds character to your hat.

Sorry

Cleaning

I have a Sirocco hat. I had some sweat marking on the front where the crown joins the rim. I took after it with baby shampoo at 15;1 and a toothbrush. All it did was make itmwider and more noticeable. Do I have any options?

Sweat stains are quite often just that….stains.  No amount of scrubbing or cleaners that I have found will take out these marks from many leathers and fabrics.  The baby shampoo/water treatment works well on dirt, takes out the oils, removes most odors, but often does nothing (or little) for the darkening that occurs.  We have settled on considering the stains as character you have built into the hat.
